Islay

Coillabus - an amazing place to stay on Islay

Islay, the Queen of the Hebrides, really is a World Class destination. It is no wonder that visitors return as friends year after year to enjoy  being here: our miles of sandy beaches, idyllic coastal villages and  iconic malt  whisky distilleries are second to none. Islay is reknowned for its superb birdlife and varied flora and fauna. The Lords of the Isles chose Finlaggan as their ancient seat and the intact Celtic cross at Kildalton gives a hint of our rich spiritual heritage.

Award winning restaurants, watersports, the championship golf course at Machrie, pony trekking, sea safaris, wildlife tours, fly fishing and craftshops all add to Islay's portfolio of attractions.  But most of all Islay is a place to unwind, regenerate body and soul, breathe fresh air and shift life back into perspective as you enjoy the views and engage with her greatest asset - the Ileachs themselves.
